Also, great resorts, best golf spots and dream homes. Often thought of as a retirement county but nothing stuffy about it. It’s a nice place in Florida to wake up to. One of the cities that makes Broward proud is Ft. Lauderdale. Once the spot for spring breakers, but now a family place with countless festivals and events.
Broward County also has sports. Go green or blue, golfing or sports fishing! There are also casinos to play your luck.
There is the Sunrise Civic Center Theatre and Gallery. There’s not a bad seat in the house. This theatre features 300 seats, a full size stage, an orchestra pit and state-of-the-art sound and lighting. To celebrate new openings, the Gallery hosts receptions that introduce Sunrise residents to the talented people behind the artwork. The Museum of Discovery and Science is located in Ft. Lauderdale, which recently opened its Eco-Discovery Center with interactive exhibits.
Other cities in Broward County, Florida include: Hollywood with it’s stretching Broadwalk filled with Cafés and shops; Pompano Beach; Coral Springs; Deerfield Beach and Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.
Broward has many attractions to brag about. There is Butterfly World in Coconut Creek that makes for a relaxing afternoon. The International Swimming Hall of Fame is located near the Atlantic Ocean in Fort Lauderdale. The International Game Fish Association has the Hall of Fame for Sport Fishing in Dania Beach. Flamingo Gardens is a botanical garden and wildlife sanctuary.
Sawgrass Mills, a large shopping mall, is located in Sunrise. In Pompano Beach is the Festival Flea Market Mall, America’s largest indoor flea market. You have to visit the Village at Gulfstream Park to find things you won’t find anywhere else and have an experience you won’t forget.
Also, there is the NHL’s Florida Panthers play their games at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise. The Everglades parks will surprise you with all there is to discover.
